An evolution of Eugene Stoner's original 1958 AR-15 design. The M4 is the most up to date model and is the 3rd major evolution of the design originally adopted by the U.S. Military in the early 1960s. The design lends itself to high accuracy, but the tolerances to achieve that accuracy require a disciplined maintenance schedule.
